We took a small bit from each of Contour's fight scenes and put them together in this little preview sampler of Contour. Want to learn more about Contour? Check out http://www.contourmovie.com
lol your hilarious actually...first off i never said i DON'T LIKE hk choreography :) secondly i said nothing about PURE WUSHU but Pure martial arts films in general lol & Contour is a very good film, better than recent hk films :) lol
so name 10 brilliant hk martial art films of the last 10 years for me please :)
i only have 2 films worthy of being called brilliant, "fearless" (the hk director's cut, not the u.s. version) & "Sha Po Lang" not much for 10 years huh? lol i rest my case :P peace
I enjoy both new and old HK films, I have a hard time believing you have seen much new HK stuff to say what you do. YOU are the minority if you don't like the amazing choreography that does still come from HK choreographers. (Choreography doesn't have to look like pure Contemporary Wushu to be good) It's even more crazy that you think Contour is any good! :p But I do agree with you in that there is no point in talking about it if you are clearly unable to really see what's going on in choreo.
lol...you just don't get it do you....oh well...there is no point talking to the stubborn, singled minded minority you are so clearly a member of :)
im going to watch once upon a time in china 2 to clear my thoughts, ah the golden age...how i miss that...clearly your enjoying the current wave of martial art films featuring "pop idols" as martial artists that hong kong have been pumping out the last few years...you have fun with that :) lol
Well maybe you need to get your eyes tested :) Or maybe intricate choreography is not your thing and you prefer very basic punches and kicks that have been seen in such brilliant action epics as Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Power Rangers.
Everyone has their opinion, but... I mean c'mon! :P
& if you read my comment properly, i was comparing them to the Honk Kong "pure" martial arts films of the last 10 YEARS, which have been less than satisfying.
you yourself have to admit that martial arts films have not been as good as the so called "golden age of hong kong cinema" (early 80's to mid 90's)
i respect your comment & was not questioning your knowledge of the hk arts, but for you to question me? now thats just plain rude lol
uhhh i've seen all of yuen wo ping's stuff, including his rare classic with bridgette lin "fire dragon" (dudes my fave choreographer lol) ching siu tung is good, but has been to focused on making his fights look more like ballet then actual "fights" (his new film with donnie yen "an empress & the warriors" looks very promising though) & i've seen all of jackie chan's films, including his terrible american efforts from the 80's "battle creek brawl" & "the protector" so im ok thanks :) lol
Hahaha you must be kidding :P Every move that they do here has been done millions of times before in many films. I mean, damn, you need to watch some more HK films!!! Go watch something by Yuen Wo Ping, Ching Siu Tung or Jackie Chan to see this stuff being done with much better application, harmonization and creativity.
I understand that you want to support amateurs, but don't say that a bunch of white guys throwing hackneyed Tae Kwon Do kicks compares to the amazing artistry of HK action.
lol u gotta give them more props than that! this is the best martial arts film i've seen in the last ten years, better than all those released in hong kong (yes better than you donnie yen lol)
you don't think contour is any good? have you seen the fights in it? the fuck are u watching?
