Navy boot camp in sound and pictures...
Millions of men went through Recruit Training Command, Naval Training Center, San Diego, California, from 1923 until 1997, when the base was closed.
Jostens, Inc., produced and Rainbo Records manufactured this featured recording, which was combined with images from Jostens' boot camp memory book called "The Anchor," from the 1960s and '70s.

  • Happy Thanksgiving from Sick Bay!

    "The Doc"

  • Shipmates and fellow Docs, I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the video! Be sure to see Part Two. YouTube limits postings to about 8 or 9 mins. Your whole recording/images runs about 17 mins.

I'm very proud to have served with you!

    Fair Seas and God's peace,

"Doc" Sanchez--Specialty Company 917, graduated January 1972, from the best boot camp of the three: RTC/NTC San Diego

  • Merry Christmas, Shipmates!

  • Anyone remember the video of the heat stress monster?
