THE eternal mystery? WHo was Wade Denning & Frank Daniels ? The halloween sound effects records released in the 70's have no identification on them. Why dont 60 minutes do an expose on this??? The only thing we know is that YOU WOULDNT DREAM OF DOING HALLOWEEN SOUND EFFECTS like this now, because it will put ideas into little kids heads, or give them nightmares. THIS SOUND EFFECT dont make any sense, audio wise, because the knocking and scratching must have been recorded seperatly on a multi track then the moaning (at a different speed to make it appear 'slower") the only thing we can find out now is that Wade Denning was a trumpet player that wrote the jingle to the following

Yea, I don't know. To me, the alleged "woodshed" voice doesn't sounds as much like "woodshed" as it does "oh, sh*t." I guess it could sound like a lot of things if you use your imagination. But then again, who cares?

I used to have this record as a kid growing up in the '70's and I enjoyed listening to it. However, somebody pointed out something to me. This track has a "hidden message" towards the end. Sort of like the "I Buried Paul" at the end of the Beatles song: "Strawberry Fields Forever". Listen closely at 2:14 and you can hear a woman whisper the word: "woodshed". Weird !

@stevemichiganman Like many "hidden" messages in rock songs and the like, I think it's an example of "auditory pareidolia". In layman's terms, a sound (or group of sounds) that can be interpreted in more ways than one ! Many people claim that John Lennon does not say: "I Buried Paul". Some feel he said: "I'm Very Bored" or "Cranberry Sauce".

@HernandezHogan...I guess your right. The "woodshed" line could have been delivered by a man, but if the audio is played on the "wrong speed", it sounds like a woman. According to "Scar Stuff", the "Halloween Record" blog, the anonymous poster describes the word being uttered by a "tiny voice". He/she never identified the gender of the voice artist. I still wonder if the Wade Denning who produced this is the same person who composed the "The Maxwell House Coffee" jingle ?

@stevemichiganman WHO MARKED THIS AS SPAM?!?!?! There is a blogspot that points out the 'woodshed' thing, but its a mans voice. but this track is confusing. I guess we will never know the symptoms because i guess that was his last breath before going into unconcieousness, but the "woodshed" comment was pointed out on a blogspot. And whomever did this must have had the tapes at a different speed. and the knocking and the voice dont make sense together to me!!!
