  • They sure make using a truck look practical, simple and sensible.

  • I hope the move was finished off with, at least, a sip of cold beer. / Nice job!

  • Cool! They are listening to a song from Juan Luis Guerra called "el niagara en bicicleta" that sing in the verse "porque es muy duro pasar el niagara en bicicleta (it's hard to cross by niagara on a bicycle)"

  • What a circlejerk. Honestly.

Great; It takes a day and two people with a u-haul. It takes 20+ people on bikes an hour.

So by U-haul let's say you take 8 hours to do the entire move. You have 16 man hours used right there.

With the bikes, you have 20+ man hours (and this doesn't include loading and unloading).

Neat concept, but please people, stop the circlejerk.

  • Jeff Pedelty used a gallon of gas each way to get to work? that's either a lot of traffic or over 30 miles! good thing he doesn't have that commute anymore...

  • Mixed feelings: cool, but too much smug. I commute and carry loads by bike year round, snow days included, strictly because I enjoy it. As a fellow resident of Colorado, we live in a state where much of our food must be trucked in from elsewhere- there's still an indirect fuel and pollution cost to cycling, and I doubt much was saved here in the grand scheme, seeing how many human engines had to be fueled up. Do it because it's challenging and fun, not because you're the saviors of the earth.

  • Good for you using bikes etc, I'm commuting by bike every day too, but, my god, that's just stomach-churning level of smugness.

  • Yea I could move my furniture by bike as well if it consisted of eight pieces of craigslist crap. And tell chubby with the Ipod player those rechargable batteries you're boasting are charged by a power plant run on ...................... fossil fuels! Whoo hoo!

  • A couple corrections: the distance I now live from work is a mile, not just a quarter mile. Of the helpers, only 3 were folks I met for the first time today, so I exaggerated a bit when I said "4 or 5". However, a couple others I've only seen at other bike moves. I'll continue to give my thanks to all those who helped!

  • I wish I had friends to help me with stuff like this.
