The most famous--and infamous--female flier in history has got to be none other than Amelia Earhart, and what better way to celebrate her life than with a biopic featuring Hilary Swank, Richard Gere, and upcoming Alice in Wonderland Mia Wasikowska.

Amelia isn't just about Earhart's flying career, and of course the final mission in which she went out and was never seen again, but also on her early life and her relationship with her husband, George Putnam. Check out the trailer.

Due to arrive in theatres this October, Amelia might be a fair bet for some golden statues later in the year. But will the movie itself be worthwhile? File your flight plan to see it or veer off in the comments section below, and thanks for watching!

  • This was a pretty good movie!

  • Let me guess I'll watch this movie and the be inspired to dig through youtube and see more footage of just who she really was.

  • Really want to see this! Amelia Earhart had determination! Strenght and courage! She dared to attempt to be the first to fly around the world, though she didn't make it she'll always be remembered for her outstanding work! She left her mark in history

  • wow..fantastic..faboulous ..watched this in webmovietube

  • @aubrey113 Oh, she's dead by now lol. She was born in 1897...she'd be 114! But, I believe with all my heart that Earhart didn't give up and just crash in the ocean, there were islands that she could have landed on. That's what I think happened to her, probably didn't live long (weather extremes) but I think she survived the crash for sure. (I'm writing a paper over her in my college english class, she's my idol! ) =]
