This debate discusses the opinions of the Ulima on the issue of Moon Sighting during the month of Ramadhan.

Unfortunately the majority Muslim community in Britain, do not have any knowldge of how and when the moon is to be sighted. Majority of the public feel that they should follow Saudi Arabia, however according to the quran and Sunnah you do not have to. here is a website below whereby you can find more information about this:

  • If it has been clearly proven that there are open flaws in Saudi sighting, this being also confirmed by many local Arabs and experts in Saudi Arabia, then to insist on following one’s Shaykh is nothing but prejudice and trespassing the boundaries set by the Shari’ah. It will be incorrect to follow one’s Shaykh of Tasawwuf in this issue. The Shaykh is not error proof.

  • Z Hejja ه ١٣٩٩ (Shekha Bin Baaz) The grand scholar Mufti of Saudi Arabia (Al Bathul Islami p 63) After doing extensive research on this issue, he concludes with this statement. ‘As for those who say that it is necessary to follow the sighting of Makkah then let it be known that there is no proof or basis for this in the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah’.

  • WOW! sheikh yazdani is a great person who clearly explains the real date of ramadhan
