  • somewhat off-topic but where does the name tryfon come from? i've never heard or seen it anywhere.

  • It's an interesting move, but I would not play it. The knight cheks the king,true, but just pushes it where he wants to go (g2). Furthermore, the black piece there is unprotected and somewhat exposed, so it can become quickly a tactical problem. Surely worth considering, but be careful :)!

  • why not 9...Nf3 with a check?i believe it is better.what do you think?

  • Hi KC. I do not find your play in this game idiotic by far, I very much respect your desire to win at all costs against everyone. Usually, with these kind of players or computer personalities 2300+, in the same position I would just castle kingside (since he did already), open a file on the queenside to drag away his pieces from my king, exchange rooks and keep tight control on dark squares with bishop and queen to secure draw. Being so "Petrosianic" in a way, I learn much from your style.
