  • Part 3

While we all know that the Persian world was already an organized world, I mean the Greeks used to believe in different kinds of GODs, Persians were monotheistic, zardushti, zoroasterians.

Because today people believe that we Persians took alot of philosophical, relegious, scientific, cultural etc things from the Greeks, but this is bullshit.

I think they took alot from us.

anyway there alot of things that have been destroyed. More investigations, studies we need indeed

  • all this ruins make me sad...

  • that's the beauty of Persepolis..and the people of Iran....it amazed me lot knowing all about its rich history..greetings from Philippines, thank you in sharing!!

  • probably the most interesting civilization ever.

  • Im sorry but Persepolis, or Takht-e Jamshid as you should call it was not the richest ancient city ever, it wasn't even the richest city in the Persian empire, that title goes to Susa, and even Susa paled in comparision to Babylon, even after the Persians conquered it.

  • Persian was indeed a Great Civilization.

But has anybody wonder why Persia was named after "Persi", the son of the Mythological Greek hero "Perseus" and "Andromaxi". Persi had a son "Ahaimeni" from whom was named the Royal House of Persia "Ahaimenides".The Ahaimenides found the Great Persian Empire and ruled until 330b.c. when Persia broke down by an other Greek, Alexander. Strange enough the last King of Persia Reza Pahlavi 1919-1980 boasted that he belonged to the "Ahaimenides" Dynasty!

  • Thank You for uploading such a very informative information about Persia....Perspolis

  • long live the only greatest empeir ever .

  • Alexander may have destroyed Persepolis, but he wept the next morning. Actually I think it probably would have been better if Alexander didn't have an empire that fell after he died. He wanted an empire, that merged east and west.
