Great explanation, thank you. I'm the only guy in a chair at my gym. I'd like the chance to try the chains, my gym doesn't have them and I can't imagine carrying 50lbs of chain to the gym three times a week. I was training for power and got stuck, trying to mix things up now. Was benching 245-250lbs, Friday I got back to 235. There's so much to know. BTW I'm 5'8" 155lbs, no SCI.

Can you explain the technique of using chains? I've seen a fellow at the gym use them and I thought it was clever - increasing the weight as you complete the movement but I can't say I really understand the benefit over a static weight. BTW I'm a chair user and work out too.

@silvertip185 the movement helps where you are weakest. most people are weakest when the bar is near the chest. as you lower the bar, the chains ravel on the ground lessening the weight. as you lift, and are at your strongest, the chains unvravel and the weight is increased. its more of a powerlifting movement. I like to train for both strength and hypertrophy. more like a power bodybuilding.
