to those young parrents that actually have this happen to them, here's a trick to actually fixing a situation like that:

get down on the floor and wail along with the kid. seriosly.

kids are usually smart enough. they scream because they want you to yield and give what you want. to see a parrent scares them straight instantly.

worked on me the first time, my mother never had scenes like that again (i was 4 at the time)
