Antonio Sanchez Left Foot Kit Clave Instructional

Pat Metheny's drummer and LP artist, Antonio Sanchez shares his knowledge of using clave with the left foot on a drumkit. In this lesson, Antonio emphasizes the use of clave based on authentic Afro-Cuban percussion. His demonstration deconstructs the use of the clave and shows when and how to effectively use the clave. He further expands on how the clave adds color and orchestration to delineate a song.

Does anyone know if there are any instructors in the L.A. area that I could study with who are as deep in to the stuff as Mr. Sanchez is? I'm pretty decent at the left-foot clave thing, but I want to get deeper in to it.

I have a few cd's of michel camilo. He plays in trio and bigband. The cd 'one more ones' is the bigband cd. This isn't pure latin/afro-cuban. But i think it's the best cd of michel camilo.
