Christianity: Fair or Foul

Terry Eagleton, John Edward Taylor Professor of English Literature at the University of Manchester, delivers the first lecture in a series of lectures entitled “Faith and Fundamentalism: Is Belief in Richard Dawkins Necessary for Salvation?”

In this lecture, Prof. Eagleton offers a critical response to recent assessments of religion by Christopher Hitchens & Richard Dawkins. That response suggested that Hitchens and Dawkins were making fundamental category mistakes in their critiques of Christian theism.
