Did anyone else click on thins thinking it said Davros week? no? ok.

I don't disagree that the folks at Davos need to hear multiple POVs. But they are only allowing one. So all the more reason for it to be a representative of the YouTube community.

I think theabnormal1's reply to you says it best. I'm not fully qualified to talk about the ENTIRETY of all that is happening in the YouTube community. But, unlike ANY of the other candidates, at least I can represent the YouTube community is some capacity.
I, unlike any of the other candidates, at least have a sense and understanding of what were are doing to try and make the world a better place. Do the other candidates even know about ChartJackers? Project for Awesome? Probably not.

have you been watching his videos? make sure you check out
"An Open Letter to the YouTube Community"
Because that's his entire point, is that the other finalists might not necessarily represent or be an active part of the youtube community and that they'd probably only talk about their cause. whereas shawn won't just ramble about his cause, he could accurately convey what the youtube community is capable of and what they care about.

I told you, that I'll vote for you, if you're going to represent the community. At the moment I don't know, what you will represent - your Uncultured Project (as sole part of the community) or the whole community.
In my own video I proposed a suggestion scheme to collect and manage ideas, how to make the world to a better place. YouTube could be (is) such a "collector" - now these ideas must be heard (not a sole one as an example). This is what I expect as part of the community.

Again, iovialis, go to the WEF's *offiicial* blog and read their *own* blog post on this contest. They clearly and explicitly state that the YouTube community picks the winner and the winner will represent YouTube.
That's the WEF's own words. Do I have your vote now?
-
The invited person does not represent the YouTube community, but his/her pitch. That's the idea of the contest. If somebody would be representing the YouTube community, this member would tell about all other causes, which are present at YouTube. If you'd like to be this person, you'll get my vote - otherwise, you represent your cause and nothing else, as mostly all of the finalists. Tell me, why you deserve more to go Davos than the others? Because of UP or because you feel as member of YouTube?
-
You're still strongly disagree with you iovialis.
Basically, none of the other candidates represent the YouTube community. They have come to push their agenda on YouTube instead of actually being a representative of the community.
Worthy causes - all needing attention. But something is indeed lost. It's not all win/win.
-
Of course, there is a benefit to win, but nothing is lost, if you are not. I am talking about the Olympic spirit: To be present is everything. And in contrast that world leaders can watch videos anywhere, those of this competition are shown to them. This is a win-win-situation for all applicants, even if only one can go to Davos. I am talking about nothing else...
I'm one fine looking fellow. *checks ego box* xD
