I was just thinking the same thing.

an SD40-2 can pull 62 loaded cars. we have two gp38-2s that run out local, ive seen them pull in 160 cars. an engine can pull more than you think, but railroads almost always overpower there trains

You'd be surprised what 3,000 horsepower can pull. Besides it certainly sounds like he's in the 8th notch on the throttle.
