Northbound Amtrak Texas Eagle being led northward through flooded Cliff Cave County Park along the Mississippi River south of downtown St. Louis, MO. The train was carrying two extra coaches, which is the reason for the additional P42DC motive power. This can be attributed to the huge spike in ridership in the wake of record high gasoline prices upwards of $4.00/gallon!!

  • Well, if the Auto Train can be hauled by 2 P40s, why are there 2 P42s on this train?

  • Interesting K5LA!
