This is basically the Chrono Trigger of the GB, for a number of reasons. Obviously the Time Travel connection, but more broadly because it's a rock-solid RPG that doesn't do a whole lot new, just does established things really, really well. That, and the understated but competent story, likeable characters, interesting and varied enemies & dungeons, etc etc etc.
FFL1+2 might be the truly unique and experimental ones, but FFL3 is just one for people who liked NES/SNES-era JRPGs in general.

FfantasyF: If you like, you can watch HCBailly and his Let's Plays. He's already done FF Legend 1 & 2, and he will be doing FF Legend 3 later. He's pretty good!
