To those looking for this exact version of the song, the singer is Kristin Chenowith, NOT Idina Menzel. Idina Menzel's done several versions of the song, and they're good, but this one was Kristin Chenowith. The actual version is longer-- it was edited for this video.

Um... pretty sure the version I used is Idina Menzel. It's just Defying Gravity on the original cast recording. Kristin Chenowith is in the song, but it's Idina on the main vocals. And yes, I did edit it for time/pacing.

If that's the case, then the labeling on the songs I found were wrong. It took me hours of sifting through Idina Menzel versions before I tried one tagged Kristin Chenowith and found it to be the right one. This was on a commercial music site. Either way, the point isn't to argue-- it's to let people looking for this beautiful version of the song know what they should look for if they, too, have trouble.
