@UtahOreckStores I totally agree! I've never heard a quiter Oreck. I am a vacuum collector and I tried it out in my local Oreck store and was amazed by how quiet it was.

We own a XL Platinum and it's an amazing vacuum but if you have long hair pets or people in your house the brush roller gets will get filled with hair very easily. Fortunately it's only 5 screws to get the thing apart. If I had to buy an expensive vacuum again I would choose a miele instead.

Ok for one I have used a vacuum with a dirtfinder and it turns green and then you turn it off and its red again. And you dont hav to pay all the money upfront and 500 dollars is pretty pricy but you hav like 12 months to pay it off like I did!

I've had an Oreck vacuum for ages. It worked so well I didn't even take advantage of the free annual checkups. Recently, it finally gave out, so this morning I ordered a new one. I prefer the sturdy build and light weight of the Oreck over Dyson. The Dyson is colorful and fun, but flimsily built. My Dyson didn't last long.

I just purchase 2 Oreck XL Platinum Plus Vaccum's and the Halo upright and I must say they are much better than my cheap Dyson''s. One problem I had was squeaky wheels which the store did a free replacement and when you pull back on certain carpets the vacuum will pull hard to the left.

You would be very impressed with the noise level. You can carry on a normal volume conversation with the vacuum running. The Platinum is the most quiet Oreck Vacuum around!

Oreck isn't too fun for pets etc, they are maybe good for the elderly due to the light weight but that's about it, my girl has one right now and we have 2 dogs and I have to dismantle the thing twice a week to clean the hair from inside as it gets clogged. For low traffic/no animals maybe it's cool.
Curious if my comment will also get erased...? Just adding my opinion.
