  • @Timinem100 The Frisians were settled during their "Magna Frisia" period between the coast area between France and Denmark. The entire coast area there was mostly Frisian. Frysk is an older language than Dutch, and yes, descendant from another language tree than Dutch. But since Dutch and Frysk were so closely related, Frysk influenced Dutch alot, and a few hundred yearslater the other way around.

  • @30secondstosnickers What are your sources for saying that? Frysk is actually recognized as a sovereign language because of its separate evolution from Dutch?

  • @Timinem100

That's interesting because Theodisc(obviously using the thorn letter instead of TH) is the language spoken by English Saxons basically known as old English which is a shame.

    Werian se Angletheod!

  • Man, I wish we could get movies like this here in the states. Excellent video and music.

  • i love to be frisian :D

  • @Timinem100

Not quite, Dutch is derived from Frysk, English and a GermanIC language.

  • @BirkaViking Dutch has evoluted from an original German dialect. the Germans called it 'Theodisk' (which is also the ethomology behind the word 'Dietsch', which then again is the ethomology of Dutch.)

Theodisk is (when literally translated.) 'Language of the people'.
