  • can you use atf?

  • Riding in a desert like enviro, I find that any addition of oil to cables only results in the collection of dirt dust and crap and seizure.. Would like to duplicate what the factory does when they send them out, no oil. Must be a secret.

  • @slaves2sin ...smear a bit of goose grease on it and leave for about 30 mins.

  • @muschi212 got it thanks

  • @slaves2sin theres a little screw tucked in behind the shifters- undo that and click through the gears until you can see the end of the cable and then push it through :)

  • nice vid. but I can't seem to remove the gear cable from the shifter mechanism on my handle bars! it doesn't come out when i push it. how do i remove it?!

  • thanks

so gear 1 im guessing ?

  • it should be on the lowest/smallest cog and the lowest/smallest chain ring.

  • what gear should the bike be in when you replace the cable

  • Please remember that WD-50 is not a lubricant (common mistake). As a solvent-cleanser it will eventually evaporate. Be sure to always use oil or grease according to the case.
