umm, Chekov......1980s......Cold War......Soviet Union......ix nay on the uclearnay esselsway!
-
@ShireBaggins123 "They must be really bad spies....." then he thinks, "...What do I do?"
-
4 people think it's across the bay. In Alameda.
-
I wish he would have said "nucular wessels." But... it's still funny anyway.
-
Because during the latter end of the cold war, a russian guy asking about the location of nuclear wessels is NOT suspicious in any way.
-
In the new movie--
Chekov: Ensign authorization code wictor wictor two.
lol it's been 20 years, and he still couldn't get the V sound right.
(technically it's not 20 years because of time travel but whatever)
-
The whole w, v, and u confusion goes back to when a v ment a u in Latin, and somehow it got changed over time.
That is why Russians use Evgeni instead of Eugene.
-
@Sismiques That makes no sense. Russians have a "V" sound already... you'd think they'd just pronounce the letter as they know it.
-
Sometimes they mistake v for w, becuse they are unfamiliar with the word, but it isn't as often as the Chekov charecter is portrayed.
-
@aluisious haha, good point
And the policeman is just like "...What do I do?"
