If you live in Brisbane, travel to Brisbane often or have the luxury of owning a private jet that will enable you to get to Brisbane, then I've got some big news for you.
GLWA is going to be hosting a very exclusive screening of the documentary film "The Doctor's Wife."
Just in case you didn't already know, "The Doctor's Wife," is the story of Dr Vincent Cornelisse and his partner Jonathan Duffy, who moved from urban Brisbane to country Queensland... and survived.
Jonathan took a camera with him and filmed their journey. The end result is "The Doctor's Wife."
"The Doctor's Wife," has already started touring the festival circuit and recently made it to the official selection of the Hollywood Fringe Festival [Film], but hasn't yet screened in Jonathan's home town of Brisbane.
Thanks to GLWA, Queensland Pride, Mojo and Mojo Fizz, "The Doctor's Wife," will screen at Palace Centro Cinema's (39 James Street, Fortitude Valley) on August 12 @ 9.20pm.
The evening will begin @ 8.15 with drinks and canapes and conclude with a Q&A session after the film.
All funds raised on the evening will go to a very special rural program where GLWA will be able to provide material to rural medical clinics to assist GLBTIQ people.
Tickes are $30 full or $25 concession and can be purchased from July 15 at the GLWA website http://www.glwa.org.au
There will only be 200 tickets available and this screening is once only so get in quick.
Gay Savvy, the radio station on z-digital is offering two VIP tickets to the event. To be in the draw you must like their facebook page www.facebook.com/gaysavvy then send them an email gay.savvy.zed@gmail.com telling them in 25 words or less how you would cope living in a country town as a homosexual.
