@whoareyouperson Actually, I think they bring the country together. Someone that might be completely against gay marriage will look at these people who connect soldier's deaths to homosexuality might think "hmm. Maybe homosexuality isn't that bad." I've seen it with several of my friends. (I'm 15, so the majority of guys my age are extremely homophobic. However, seeing the WBC changed their minds.) They also show us what happens when we substitute logic and reason with dogma.

@flyersphan111 It's their protesting that has caused them to become such a controversial group because their protesting DOES hurt others. They disrespect to the highest degree the soldiers who willingly give their lives for the United States and the people who are even slightly ok with the idea of homosexuality. Their beliefs are part of the reason why gays and lesbians still cannot marry in many parts of the United States, despite the fact the United States is a secular country.
