Could hook it up to an automotive alternator and use a small motor to run it. Neodymium magnets are a great alternative. The thinner are better cause you get high strength and light weight

Sorry,
but placing only a weight onto the large wheels won't be a load. This is only a point in moving on, after this break the wheel will turn much better, because this load works like a Flywheel...
A good load would allways be a small rubber belt to a small alternator, which powers a couple of large light bulbs.
Four 300 Watts halogen bulbs, each switchable would no show, how much power the gear could handle.. if less dann 300 Watts - forget about it...

It's hard to forget ...
The more power you need the stronger magnets needs.
But you're rite, light tiny generator will do the show, can't find one. Have made some but they're very low efficient, needa industrial one but featherlight.

is that a new turntable for record players or somethin, that is not nothing to do with free energy. and coils you add will drag down the speed. nothing new here

Who's speaking about novelty or FE??
Nothing new under moon and there's nothing free in this world...
The point here is to find better magnets' combination and optimisation of the energy balance for recuperation. That's all.
And drag always less than induced emf.
