TRY IT YOURSELF!!!

THIS is why everyone on the planet should stop using Microsoft Internet Explorer(IE). Even though Microsoft's hold has been slipping in recent years as people begin to learn how much of an inferior product it actually is, the sad truth is that they still hold 60% of the market (though, they used to hold in the 90's). Modern Web apps are making growing use of Javascript and due to IE's insanely slow Javascript engine, the web as a whole has been held back.

This, unfortunately, isn't really a matter of opinion. It is an inferior product compared to most other browsers. You may "prefer" it, but that's like people who prefer pintos to corvettes.

I love both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. I use Firefox as my work browser due to all the cool plugins (Firebug!!) and Chrome for regular browsing because of it's break-neck speed!

If you'r a developer, I'm sure you're using Firefox already. But everyone should give chrome a try. It's the sweet new kid on the block!

  • @srocek1 Sure, buddy, I'm assuming that means you've never actually tried to use firefox or chrome for any modern javascript-heavy apps yourself. Seeing is believing. Run the demo at the link I provided, and you'll open up your mind a bit.

  • I just tryed that on Firefox and it's not choppy for me, maybe because I boosted it with ASC Settings in Internet Booster.

  • @azrocker1 That, and I think since this video was made, the javascript engine has had some additional boosts. I think 3.5 saw the biggest improvements. Not quite Chrome speeds, but at least it's in the same ball park. That, and it still has a slightly faster rendering engine.

  • Please, stop kidding me....

My Firefox don't even lag. Ofcourse i go 3.6, but javascript engine can't be that slow on FF!

  • @BirchFilmCompany Like I mentioned above, this was done with version 3. I think in 3.5, they gave the engine a pretty nice boost. I'll have to make an updated version of this at some point.

  • Chrome wins obviously. And you don't have to have those add-ons to survive.

  • lol its true that Google chrome faster is but if you have a good/fast pc then you shouldn't have problems with IE

  • dude i tested this out and my internet explaore 8it ran fine.

  • I want mozilla firefox soooooooooooooooo bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i use IE and my mom won't let me =(

  • @rexa06 lol. right??!! Because some people ACTUALLY think IE is the "fastest and more most secure".

  • @100broken001 Definitely a fair statement. If that's what you're used to, then that's your preference. In the realm of opinion, no one can argue with you.
