McCain Suggests Military Approach To Urban Crime

Speaking at the National Urban League today, McCain compared fighting crime to the troop surge in Iraq:

"And some of those tactics -- you mention the war in Iraq -- are like that we use in the military. You go into neighborhoods, you clamp down, you provide a secure environment for the people that live there, and you make sure that the known criminals are kept under control. And you provide them with a stable environment and then they cooperate with law enforcement, etc, etc."

I think you people took this way out of context. He basically means put more policemen on the streets and fight crime proactively. He was very right too.

I not only think that we should take a military approach but I also wish there were death squads in the US, this gang shit would've been over before it started. On the other hand the goverment would have too much control so in the end we only exchange from one enemy to the other.
