This tutorial discusses important principles that are germane to your success as an artist. You are unique. Your point of view of the world around you is also unique.
Schools and colleges have a cookie-cutter mentality and require conformity to rules, so learn the rules and move on. As your artistic nature matures, you will want to find your own way of expressing yourself, and even though animation encourages each of us to follow a model sheet, your take on it will always be different.
The expressions and body language will be uniquely yours. To make your drawings substantive is the goal; Drawings are symbols that witness who you are. Let me teach you how to achieve this.

  • Thank you Don, watching this is like gold to me,

  • I'll be blunt I think I please myself too much.. okay that sounded obscene, but what I mean is I almost never follow guidelines and make everyone's piece my own when I do anything like fanart. but technical drawing in turn may be impossible for me. If someone says "draw this" I may have trouble. Hell I've never had practice in that aspect, never took any real classes. But that's also where I may shine, as everyone seems to do in the situation where you draw a posing person or make a still life.

  • This is awesome O__O

  • omg it;s don bluth!!!!!!!

  • anyone who watches this has to realize that Don is one of the true animation masters, he can do all this stuff in his sleep, anyone that wants to be an animator has to long work and hard for years to get somewhere, the best animation demo reels are from people that went to 4 year animation colleges, it's like wanting to be a great guitar player you have to do it day and night almost to be good

  • wow, he looks and sounds exactly like disney!! freaky huh, and he worked with the guy!

  • @DonBluthProductions how much does that cost?

  • I played Dragon's Lair. I not sure how many times I play it. Then I play Space Ace when it came out.
