  • Can someone please answer a ? for me? I was wondering when Myrtle Lum Fargate started on the show she married Nigel Fargate. Okay in the script it says she left Pine Valley with him to be married. Now the ? is did Eileen Herlie actually leave the show at one time or did she still appear on there after she left Pine Valley?

  • @tallulah1961 Eileen started in 1976. Nigel then died in '76. Myrtle never left the show until 2008 when Eileen passed away and Myrtle was killed off.

  • Phoebe was gangster!! Love her!

  • "Not evil, my dear: PERCEPTIVE!!!"

  • If they still had older characters to complement the young, and great actresses like Ruth Warrick, it wouldn't have been cancelled. People want acting, not posing.

  • Phoebe was quite the schemer back on the day!

  • If only they were still presenting characters with this much depth the soaps wouldn't be in the cellar. This is what has been missing from the soaps for years. It's a shame.

  • Loved Ruth Warrick - she really clued into the fact that the more outrageously bitchy, melodramatic and overtly earnest Phoebe was, the more comedic the scenes would be. Such a fabulously entertaining actress, perhaps the greatest comic relief ever seen on an American soap opera.

  • Wow Phoebe Tyler Wallingford was certainly one big spitfire!

  • agreed!
