  • By no means am I any expert.......but if the water is clear, try a tube or even the rubber worm wacky style. PRESENTATION is key. Right under the 33 bridge on the northern side, there can be productive weed beds (if there aren't any other fisherman first...it's probably the most popular spot on that lower Lehigh). Cold water will make those fish conserve all of their energy. They are looking for an easy meal to come by. That's JMO....and I know I said that in another comment.

  • zyxwfish....you are absolutely correct. Nice sized ones too.....without giving the "honey holes" out totally.....the weed beds near where the canal kind of dumps into the river below the 33 overpass......everytime I've caught one...that is where the spot seems to be. If you take out the jet skis and people flying up and down with their boats to big for that river, the fishing would be spectacular around there.

  • The one at 3:21 is a largemouth. You have seen giant carp jump in the lehigh right?

  • Any advise for fishing this river in november

  • In the vicinity of the Francis E. Walter Dam I've had some memorable days on the Lehigh. 'Met' a beaver there that was warning me off with those characteristic thumping splashes. He (or she perhaps) swam within 10 feet of my position I had staked out at the tail end of an eddy. Following this I caught a 37" musky and a slew of rainbow trout. This was on the day in '84 when former Vice President Mondale was visiting Wilkes Barre. They were promoting his appearance on the radio that day, heavily.

  • Past the 1st shad ladder in Easton, the fish run much bigger. I used to live in BT and fished that area for many years.. used to fish that area prior to 33 overpass by riding my bike on the bikepath. Anyway, i always found bigger fish after the 1st shad ladder. There is a boat ramp in down town easton. There is only one problem... my honey hole can only be reach by foot (too shallow, many rocks/rapids for a boat).

  • @f3mt0eater I have caught largemouth in the freemansburg part of the river. Very rare though.

  • I've fished here for 3 years. i cought 2,3 pound small mouth. use smaller stick baits Blue and black ones. Fishing up in allentown is a little better around the 3 islands. Dont know how much you people fish the lehigh but Maybe that will help you catch more fish. Also try the canel with fake worms aside what people say about the fishing. Also there is no largemouth in that river that i know of.
