IMHO, Mr. Hess is one of the more intense actors around...on top of that, he's fluent in a few languages and is -to say the least- a very accomplished musician.

The reason why he's not cast more often is a complete mistery to me.

This was what inspired the blair witch project that was just toned down movie of last house on the left. The whole idea of this was film was no cut aways make feel like its real. Most horror films have so many cut aways that feels so freaken fake.

Look, the violence is not ment to be entertaining, compare this film to the Clint Eastwood flick High Plains Drifter where the main character drags a woman inside a barn and rapes her, and she's enjoying it even though it's clearly a rape!

Last House was also made during the Nam war, that's where Wes Craven got his inspiration so it's real.
