Millie Discovers the Nest Box

I decided to get a nesting box for my birds and see if they'd breed. They're a little skittish about new things, so I put the box on the cage so they'd get used to it. Millie finally gets the courage and discovers how interesting and fun it can be :)

I just had the box outside to give them a chance to get used to it before I put it in the cage. They spaz out easily at new objects, especially something as large as this.

LOL! when it stuck its head out of the nesting box at the beginning it was ADORABLE :D i have four parakeets with a nesting box and they do the same! its adorable haha! hey do you know how to attach a nesting box to a cage? like on the side of heir cage? i realy wanna do that :O

@Animallover11486 The simplest thing to do is get two relatively short, thin nails and hammer them into the back (one on either side) but keep it to the edge so it stays in the wood and not stick out into the space inside the box. Once the nail is in a good way, hit it so it creates a bend that you can hook onto the cage.

The best way to breed budgies is to put the male and female in a cage on their own with a nest box like what you see in my video.

It may take a while, since budgies breed best when they've bonded (feeding and grooming one another), but they will still breed when separated from the rest of the flock.
