Joe Vitale of the movie, The Secret, reveals that Napoleon Hill's book 'Think and Grow Rich' was actually a sales letter. Where did Hill reveal the real formula to success?

UPDATE:
According to Wikipedia...

"In 1937, author Napoleon Hill published his book Think and Grow Rich which went on to become one of the best selling books of all time, selling over 60 million copies. In this book, he discusses the importance of controlling your own thoughts in order to achieve success, as well as the energy that thoughts have and their ability to attract other thoughts. In the beginning of the book, Napoleon Hill mentions a "secret" to success, and promises to indirectly describe it at least once in every chapter of the book. It is never named directly for he says that discovering it on one's own is far more beneficial. Many people have argued over what the secret actually is, with some arguing that it was the Law of Attraction."

I agree.

  • Mr. Joe , I agree that "Laws of success" is a great book. But TGR contains the SECRET.

The secret comes in two parts.

    First part of the secret

Hill says it in the very first sentence of the first chapter i.e "TRULY, THOUGHTS ARE THINGS AND POWERFUL THINGS... Another part is already in possession of those who are READY for it. Hill says in chapter 2 " NO ONE IS READY FOR A THING, UNTIL HE BELIEVES HE CAN ACQUIRE IT. THE STATE OF MIND MUST BE BELIEF, NOT MERE HOPE OR WISH. ......

  • Joe Vitale is wrong on this one or should I say his perception Think and Grow Rich is a sales letter is a joke...anyone who read this book over many uears will know, it is no sales letter and most certainly the secret which Hill refers to is contained in the book and in fact he gives a very clear clue in the early pages, yet it took me years to figure out what it was, it is there...

  • Hey Joe, I love you a great deal. But he mentions in this book about deciding what you want writing in down as a goal to be achieved by a set date and then working towards achieving it.

If you know what you want and work intelligently towards achieving it then most likely you will

    achieve that goal.

  • @FlavourLikeIceCream There are many methods to achieving your goals. The question is what works best for you. For example, the scientist Nichola Tesla who discovered the alternating current of electricity coming into your home right now used to sit down and imagine his invention and then build it exactly as he saw it in his mind. This may not work for people who prefer writing things down drawing plans etc.

  • Look.

I have read 3 of Hills books. His secrete is simple.

Become a salesperson, use PMA to sell lots of your product, spend rest of life counting cash.

Hill has many sound propersitions, BUT in his 'success through a positive mental attitude' more than 90% of the books perspective is based on salesmanship.

  • Is the secret like having a clear image in your brain of exactly how you want to be/ feel/ act?

  • @videoloverboy You have read the book many times, but have you APPLIED the principles, especially thos in Chapter 2 on ' Desire ' ?

  • @ztarrfect You have read the book many times, but have you APPLIED the principles, especially thos in Chapter 2 on ' Desire ' ?

  • Just read all 99 comments - thanks everyone. I found a well-read audiobook at iTunes:

The Law of Success: From the Master Mind to the Golden Rule (In Sixteen Lessons) (Unabridged) $14.99 Three parts = 24-hours & 20-minutes long . I searched after seeing Joe's video here - thanks buddy. I've read TAGR well over fifty times during last 22 years and CAN'T say I've found success regarding wealth/career.

I'm missing Master Mind friends and real increasing income. Someone help me!

  • And how do you know this, Joe?

  • You didn't understand Think and Grow Rich. There is no "blueprint" for success. If there were a blueprint then more people would be successful. Think and Grow Rich is about developing the mindset required for success. Without the mindset you can't utilize your true potential and all the blueprints in the world won't help.

  • in the original version there is the secret.
