First of all I do recommend the Bissel line of deep cleaners - with four dogs and an active household the Bissel is as essential indoors as my power washer is outdoors. If Bissel were smart they'd find a way to work with Lowes or Home Depot to bundle their machines with the carpet these centers sell. That said when attempting to change a belt or replace a part it is a Must - to FULLY LOWER the handle as doing so is what will make servicing the machine possible. MS to completely lower handle.
