just saw SMV a few days ago and got their CD, had to learn something from it lol its not great and its only half the song, the second half gets way too intense and I made enough mistakes on the beginning.

since they used 4 string basses i stuck with the four strings for the most part even tho im playing on my 6

  • Stanley plays it on a 4 stings only - in fact them 3 play this song on a 4 strings bass - but no too bad, keep training and don't forget to compose your own thing

  • stanley also uses a "tenor bass" at times which is tuned higher, as well as marcus sometimes uses a 5 string bass live when i saw SMV. however in this video i dont use the 1st or 6th string, treating it as a 4 string bass except one instance at 0:36 where the note was played by stanley that was just more convenient to play on the 6th string.

  • is that the legendary yamaha rbx jm2? or does it only look like one, since i cant see the pickups well and the head not even one bit, i can just guess, but i think it is one^^

  • only an ibanez soundgear lol but it does the job for now til i can afford a trb lol

  • Please Note: i tried to fade out the video and it screwed up the audio at the end. my apologies.

  • Good job so far. I just started on this song this afternoon. Fun song to play. And don't apologise for playing it on a 6. It just means you don't need to move around the neck nearly as much. More efficiency is never a bad thing. :)

  • You're a ton better than me! Keep it up!

  • could you please tab this!!! amazing job btw way

  • Good job

    Stanley is the best

  • Good job

    Stanley is the best

  • Nice job, sounds real good.

Makes me want to get a 6-string, but I feel like only people with huge hands can play it.

  • sounds brutal dude!!!

    good job man

    sounds clean!

im not a fan of ibanez basses

    but this one sounds good!!

  • PEOPLE LIKE YOU ANNOY ME! HAHA

  • .......excuse me? haha

  • Your fret noise is realy annoying me.

  • Sounds really good. You got the Stanley Clarke part that was a little confusing to me.

  • I'm trying to follow you in this video but I'm doing a bad job of it. could you post a tablature perhaps?

  • OMFG ITS SO BRUTAL..

i mean the real word brutal

  • it'll be a while before I pick up an acoustic or an electric but thank you for your advice.

  • great

  • fukin sweet kepp up the work!

  • no, i tried to an octave lower first and its definitely not right. if the part at around 0:56 would end on a low b, and none of them play 6 strings. at 1:25 marcus starts playing with clarke so u hear the lower octave but he doesnt end the phrase the same since they move to another one after

  • I've been following you since I picked up a bass and I have to ask, is there a faster method of increasing striking speed?

other than that wonderful performance, hope to see more.

  • cool

  • very sexy sixer what kind is it?
