Paintball Basics is a series for answering questions that beginning players have. This video addresses the difference between a "chop" and a "break," and how to identify them. This video alone will greatly help you on the field in dealing w/ technical issues, getting your gun cleaned, and getting up and going again!

Regardless of if your paintball gun chops or breaks, you'll need a squeegee to clean out your barrel, so check out our wide selection of squeegees at http://www.hustlepaintball.com/Squeegees-s/59.htm.

  • i have a project salvo with a cyclone and a response and it feeds the same rate about 8 a second but the ball still ends up breaking

  • @emokid43100 Barrel breaks have more to do with the paint itself than anything else. Where are you purchasing your paint at? What kind of paint are you getting?

  • if ball chops and barrel breaks happen do u have to stop playing to clean the gun or will it keep going even if that happens?

  • @sfcErwin92 If you break paint inside your barrel, you DEFINITELY want to stop and clean your barrel out, otherwise your accuracy is going to be totally gone, and you're just wasting paint when you shoot. Always carry a few squeegees on hand, otherwise you might get in a jam with broken paint in your barrel.

Remember that you can also contact us at support@hustlepaintball(.)com with any questions or comments that you may have.

  • If ball chops and barrel break happens often will the gun stop working after a while??

  • @3azypain Only if you don't perform proper maintenance and clean it out.

  • Ok so I have a tippmann x7 and I recently went paintball and didnt use all my paint so I still have some left over... But the left over paint is breaking in my barrel its good paint but its oily is this is whats causing the problem ?

  • I have a Bravo one/alpha black and I've never had a break, or chop, I even used the shittiest deformed paint, shot 500, not one break

  • @MrCrime97 I think she meant inside of the barrel

  • Today I have with me the...(reads gun) Alpha Black. Btw what is a "loader"

Jk love your vids. Really helpful.

  • this reminds me of last time i played paintball, with a Spyder 2000 rental. the guys at the pro shop forgot to put detents in it, and the ref wouldn't believe me when i said "hey, i'm having some gun trouble. every time i try to shoot, my gun chops, and i swear i see 3 balls coming out for one shot." after 3 or so games, we got back to the staging area and the ref took it apart, and went "HEY! your ball detents are missing."

ALWAYS check to make sure your detents are in the gun.
