The show has promise. I hope you eventually pick a subject each show and follow it through. I hope that you provide proper views of the items you describe. Examples would be mixer connections, cables etc.
I'd love it if you have a show or two aimed at amateur people like myself. Describe some inexpensive, but good mixer, mic setups, etc.

Inserts on mixers I think are primarily designed to route to compressors/rack gear. You use an insert cable which is basically a stereo to two mono connectors. So audio from that channel ( Like a microphone input ) goes through all your rack gear and back through insert input to the rest of the board.

Don't like to route audio through USB or firewire. Prefer to route through the sound card directly. While some say a built-in sound cards are not the best way to do it, always had great success with it along with great sounding audio. +1 on the cheap mixers producing more noise, the medium priced mixers have much better mic preamp in them.
