Michael Chang's famous underhand / drop / underarm service vs World No.1 Ivan Lendl at 1989 Roland Garros fourth-round match. The flick of the wrist shocked his opponent. The 17-year old player at the time was exhausted and cramped so he used the simple trick to change the rhythm of play. The shot is one of the most amazing in history. At match point,he came near the T-line while waiting for Lendl's serve and then won.Chang later explained, "I was trying to break his concentration. I would do anything to stay out there." [Tennis]
Later he went on to win the tournament and became the youngest male player to win a Slam!

  • ASIANS!

  • Two years ago, it took me hours to find that, in the match. Great post.

  • It's so sneaky I love it!

  • @mcgurkryans Plus, if he wouldve lost the point, it wouldve been double break point for Lendl...so it was a pretty important point. Plus he won it like that...

  • @mcgurkryans He started experiencing severe leg cramps at the start of the 3rd set. They were so bad he couldn't move porperly. So in order to keep in the game he started using unorthodox tactics to put his opponent off.

For match point he walked up from the base line to the T to through Lendl into serving a double fault for Chang's win

  • Why is he celebrating? The score was 30-30... I figure he would get excited if it was a set point or something. Give me a break.

  • @QuantumMaths I don't see why it would. But situations where you could use this effectively are bound to be extremely rare.

  • @ChannelXII you are hitler, racist cunt.

  • @DIANAROSS4EVER And I've never liked Andy Murray; guess they ARE a 'match made in heaven'....

  • Well done, I've never liked Lendl
