In a stunning turn around, insurance giant CIGNA has capitulated to community demands, and protests that the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee helped to generate, and agreed to a critically needed liver transplant for Nataline Sarkisyan, a 17-year-old girl in the intensive care unit at UCLA Medical Center. Unfortunately, Nataline passed away yesterday just after six o'clock the same day of the massive protest.

  • Fearmongering. Shame. I'd rather have socialized medicine than corporate medicine any day.

  • All we can do is to make people aware that the system is broke and that it may not effect them now, sooner or later it will and if not to them, then a loved one. Put faces and feelings to these deaths as in this video and do what you can to enlist, encourage and engage these issues. I've dedicated my page in doing so. check out my healthcare playlist.

  • It's TIME to TAX the RICH $ Health care should be a Right for every one in USA I Hope some day or country gets Smart and is no.1 again

  • this so sad man.I hate all those insurance companies, they are just here to make money, not to help people. if you need money, go make it, for that you need f**cking paper, not people's life. why are you playing with humans lives? if you did not give them their lives, why are you taking it from them? whoever is behind this, let him/her to know there is God , and one day you will get your punishment

  • she would hsave had treatment in the uk and canada france germany only in the usa do they as cheque or charge

  • CIGNA CEOs = A pile of dog manure.

  • ((((((((

  • She went to my school...very sad.

  • Good lord my friend! PM me, I'll host you! Just come check how we live here! We don't need to fight against such ridiculous situations! PLEASE, PM me, come see for yourself! I'm offering you a free holiday if you go back and start talking about what you saw here!

  • Why can't we stop picking on the poor insurance companies. Can't we just look the other way when someone dies or when someone's child dies because of coverage denied? As long as it's not someone we care about, should it really bother us? As insensitive as this sounds, it's basically the argument anyone against affordable insurance for all is unknowingly making. Heartless Idiots. My heart goes out to her and her family. It's shameful and heartbreaking.

  • Weak and uniformed comment.

  • I am amazed that people use the Sarkisyans to argue for government health care. Which medical insurer has the highest number (& percentage) of treatment rejections? Medicare!

In those countries with govt ins. (Canada-UK) this procedure would be denied with no possibility of a change of mind.

Non-elective surgical procedures have waits of over 6 months in those countries. Let's not use the tragic death of this young woman to argue for a public plan that would have denied her just as quickly.
