A WOMAN SCORNED - The Betty Broderick Story

True story of Betty Broderick, a MINOR socialite in San Diego whose husband was a prominent attorney and President of the San Diego Bar Association. Broderick murdered her ex-husband and new wife in November1989.The most incredible part of this story is the sympathy she received from many who thought her "justified" to kill him and his new wife as they slept in bed. You'll wind up hating Broderick as I did. If not, let me know why. This version has some extra scenes I hadn't seen before.

I was unable to upload the second part to this movie, "Betty Broderick, Her Final Fury." In that movie, especially at the second trial, Betty's psychiatrist testified that he found all nine symptoms of Betty's personality disorder--narcissm. I hope all those who wish to defend Betty will keep her personality disorder in mind.

and people keep saying 'oh she only got 160000 a year' i wuold have loved to get that much from my ex!!! fact is he did the work to earn it not her. she CHOSE to give up her career and stay home. and when it fell apart she blamed him for her decision to raise the kids and stay home. i hope she NEVER gets out of jail. crazy bitch!

I am still mystified as to the number of comments I receive defending this woman, saying Dan drove her to it, he was the narcissist, etc. etc. etc. Gor comments from one woman who was a man hater and just could'nt dump on Dan enough. What's wrong with this picture? Why do you think so many people--men and women both--take Betty's side? Makes no sense to me.

@dolds67 dint he have the right to have whoever he wanted as best man? didnt he have the right to take his new wife where ever he chose to go for their honeymoon? bettys parents shouldve sent the invite back unopened. and yes narcissism is a scary disorder but the fact is she WAS diagnosed with this. dan and linda didnt give her this disorder

@dolds67 and since you know so much about her you should also know wat she did while she was in jail. did you know that she wrote on the walls with her feces? how do you condone that? was that dan and lindas fault too? just another example of how poor poor betty doesnt think the rules that govern us apply to her. even the prison rules dont apply to betty cuz she is smarter and better looking than the rest of us

@dolds67 she has not paid her debt to us as a society. not until she dies in prison. she chose to give up her life to take care of him and stay home to support him. she chose to give up her career. he didnt force her to do it. when she realized the marriege was over she was angry yes- as we all are- but she did not have the right to kill them. the fact that she could not stop violating the restraining orders over and over again should tell you that she thinks the rules dont apply to her

@dolds67 betty is a ruthless psychotic woman. i too saw this movie when it first came out years ago AND READ THE BOOK, and read the transcripts and saw the pathetic parole hearing. i too am in my forties now and had the same thing happen to me two years ago with the husband leaving me for a 22 year old after he cleaned out the account- i lived it and i know wat it feels like. and you know what? i feel less sorry for her now then i did when i was in my twenties. she is where she belongs

@Alexia8099 i agree with you. these people need to wake up. wat if dan was thier son? would they still condone this? i dont think so. they have no empathy for dan and his family including the children he had with betty.every person has the choice to do right and wrong. nobody forces you to break the law. you make that choice on your own

i dont understand it either, she blames him for everything even now. in my experience it takes two people to make a marriage work or fail. she has never taken any responsibilty for the collapse of her marriage or for the murders that she commited. i will argue this point until im blue in the face. she had no right to kill them. he gave her plenty of alimony and a house with no mortgage- thats waaayyy more than alot of women get. she thought she was better than that. truth is she is no better

i think the women take her side bcuz most of them have been dumped or cheated on at some point in their lives at least once- and identify with her anger. what they dont realize is that they did NOT react the way she did even though they were just as angry. if they did as she did over 1/2 the women in the u.s. would be in jail for killing thier exes. betty has personality disorders that make her feel superior to everyone else. that she doesnt have to abide by the rules that govern the rest of us

well dan and linda cant take any resposibilty for wat they did because betty ended both of their lives right? she was judge jury and executioner- who gave her that right to kill both of them? there was and is still absolutely no justification for her actions. i dont care wat he did to her- she couldve picked up the so called pieces of her poor poor life and do wat every other woman who has been in this situation does and that is MOVE THE HELL ON.
