  • Didn't Mark play a short lived Fender Starocaster at one point? It was not a successful model for Fender. As I recall a hollow body thin line guitar with humbuckers.

  • Mark you should put on a size 13 cowboy boot and stick it side ways up Brewers ass. GFR could have used any drummer or bassist, but you were Funk. Take care and hope u get something going in the music industry. You're an icon.

  • I can't believe Brewer was really such an ass..To me if there's no Mark Farner, there's no GFR...Mark is a real man. As for Mel I hope he watch his back....Mel should team up with Mark and start a new GRF...the hell with Brewer...

  • Mark was my hero. In '87 the wife and I saw him in concert, where I got some real close-up pictures. After the concert we hung around his bus and a guy sticks his head out and says, "you guys want to talk to Mark?'' Uh...sure! We spent 20 minutes on the bus, just the 3 of us, talking about music and family. I had one picture left on the film camera, and did I think to have the wife take a photo of me and Mark? STUPID!!!! O well, I will never forget it.

  • This guy was great and he was the reason "GFR" was so great. GOOD classic songs I can still rock to. Thanks Mark I hope you have a great life.

  • I like Don Brewer. Cut my teeth on his playing in the early 70's. BUT. Unlike Brewer, I've realized that drummers and bass players are a dime a dozen, even great ones like him and bass players like Mel. Farner IS the genius behind GFR. They deserve to be in the R&R Hall of Fame. Period. I've played with Chris Cross and Brian Wooten of Trace Adkins in band called Rattlesnake from south Texas. Brewer needs to know his place. I do.

  • Mark Farner was, is and always will be the true soul of Grand Funk Railroad.

  • Hey Brewer, maby you should change your last name to "sewer", here are two reasons why; One, your new fake GF band "stinks" without the true genius, Mr. Mark Farner. Two, since you called the Messenger a "piece of shit" but you tried to steal it, which makes you a "piece of shit", and since shit is associated with a "SEWER" well the choice is clear, so call that crooked attorney of yours and for a nominal fee, he'll fix that name change for you.

  • I find it amusing that Don Brewer stated the Messenger was "a piece of shit" but yet he swiped it from the R&R HOF. Well, "donnie boy", I guess you decided since the real brains of GFR had an axe worth several thousands of dollars in collector value that you'd capitalize on it, thinkin you could slide it back in without notice ? Who's the piece of shit now?

  • A real Rock God.
