I have a 1-1/4 inch brad nailer. Can I use it for window casing? I heard that I need at least 1-1/2 or 2 inch nail. then I need to buy another one. Am I correct?

What about for crown moulding, what size for the brad nail I need?

You need 2-inch minimum nail for casing, preferably a 2.5-inch nail. The larger nail for sure for crown, unless you install a backer strip behind the crown.

how do you get those smaller nails out of wood??

If the nails are countersunk you don't get them out. Otherwise you use a new hammer that has sharp claw edges.

Pry bar. Rip the trim off. Wire cutters are a good way to extract the finish nails from the board, pull them threw the same direction they went in.
