  • The driver's seat is busted

  • @zapwatt

What do you mean by busted?

I think it was never restored (at least I did not). The vinyl has a few nicks and the seat is probably sagging somewhat. The sagging suits me fine since I am 6'4" and it helps me keep the line of vision just under the top of the windscreen frame.

The hood is not good though, would need replacing but is hardly ever up, so I dont care much.

  • @Ericf318318 The right shoulder appears to be sitting back further than the left shoulder. Very common on some British cars and most big Fords of 80s', 90's, 00's

  • @zapwatt

I see what you mean Mr eagle eye. I checked quickly on the car and it does not look like anything is out of kilter "de vivo". Will investigate anyway. Thanks for the tip.

  • Hi Sabrosa, MGB parts are very easy and cheap to get. Everything is available new. Join the MG Owners Club and all will be super easy. Have fun.

  • I plan on buying one of these, and using it as a daily driver. Am I doomed? Lol

  • @JaiCourvoisier

The MGB is a very good daily driver. Just make sure you get the best you can afford. Look for a car that has been upgraded with some modern bits like mine and that is already well used. Stay well away from rusty ones and shoddy restorations. Beware, the driving is quite "agricultural", ie not very comfortable, but this is part of the fun. If you go for a roadster, you WILL get wet somehow. Motors are almost indestructible.

  • I'm from wisconsin. run well in the cold??

  • @Ericf318318 My '77 MGB roadster is very comfortable indeed. I would never use it as a daily driver tho'.Traffic these days is too fast & suicidal on the main roads. Everyone in a mad rush with no road manners!! Love to go back to the 60's, everything, including driving, was so much better then!!

  • Hello Eric,

I saw your video and you have a very nice car. Maybe you could answer a question for me. What can you tell me about the supply of spare parts? Is it difficult to find some or is it pretty easy? I am living in Germany and for me it is important to buy a car where I can find spare parts.

I like the Triumph TR2 also very much but in my opinion it's not easy to find a good one.

Sorry for my "basic english". ;-)

    Regards
