so wrong to keep polar bears in captivity - they have such a wide natural range. Mercedes died after a 'younger healthier friend' was introduced to her enclosure at the wildlife park. Her ex. mate from Edinburgh Zoo, Barney, died many years ago after eating a plastic toy a child had dropped into his enclosure.

So sad, she really does seem sad. I have seen her since she moved to the Highlands Wildlife Park and now has 6 acres and a pool, she's so much happier now!

@squirrel1612 poor animal, everytime i've seen her she did the same pacing backwards and forwards thing, was wondering what had happened to her.

Poor beast. She is now at Kingussie Wildlife Park in a large area but she still paces the length of her old cage from here & looks so bored & alone.
