As far as what I did for my shoulders in that period, I just hit them with compound movements (different types of bench pressing was the main shoulder hitting exercise), and I didn't do any isolation work like lateral raises due to injury those movements cause me. I basically just focused on improving in a few basic compound movements, and I had a much bigger rep range than most people- doing anywhere between about 3 to 30 rep work sets.
