@iAussieGuy G&L's are not really all that expensive. Folks looking to spend less can go for the Tribute series. The pickups and electronics are supposed to be the same, you just don't get a.) the custom build and b.) quality of fit and finish. AFAIK, all American G&L's are "custom" in that the builds are ordered by the retailers from a list of options, so to compare them fairly with other brands you kind of have to stick to their "custom shop" series.
