My 6 year old son is going to have his tonsils taken out tomarrow morning and Im more afraid then he his. He dont really understand what it is thats going to happen I guess but thats a good thing. What should I do to be prepared and what do I need to tell him and not to tell him.

@Jric93 You should get your tonsils out.In your case it sounds like something that could be painful if you dont get surgery.Tonsil surgery isnt bad and its very painless.Take your pain meds before you get pain and keep taking them.the first couple days are the worst but as the days goes on it starts to get better.Thats what happen when I got them out this year

I had my tonsils out on May 22,2008 I'm glad :) plus I jus had knee surgery on June 17,2011 great :(

@Jric93 you should trust you doc. check the research. for the most part it has become a routine surgery with some very modern technology. I'm sure you'll be in good hands, but yours sound like they need to come out. Take care.
