Dude lol, I love that you said that what drives you is that if you met Mark Driscoll he would beat you up. Makes me wonder how many other men he is influencing in such a way. You should check out his sermon "Men and Marriage", it's awesome.

wow this post couldn't be further from the truth. even the bible proclaims to be the word of God. What God do you think you worship? Who's team are you on anyway?

your opinion is very cute, but unless you have some Bible to back it up then it means nothing.....
thats right, what you have to say means nothing unless it agrees with the word of God
I cannot agree with you about Driscoll. His message is only "hardcore" because you are male, young, and spiritually lost. His ideas are not revolutionary, they are simply old-school dressed up as hip (his theology is identical to that of your average turn-of-the-century hick steeped in superstitions, sexual and social taboos, gender Apartheid, male dominance, and literal dogmatism. Don't give in simply because he behaves like a domineering daddy dressed up as the local pot-shop hippie.

@nicksum28 Of course his ideas are not revolutionary. They've been around for millennia. They only seem revolutionary in the context of our lost culture. As for your turn-of-the-century superstition etc. argument, I don't think you could be more out of line. Christians do not get their theology by studying hick culture. We learn it by reading the Bible and believing what it says about being the Word of God.

OK, firstly, the Bible is not the Word of God - it can't be because it was written by fallible human beings. At best, it is an introductory love letter to The Word. What Christians call The Word is a relationship with The Lord, and His guidance of your life as revealed through communion with the Holy Ghost. Secondly, I did not say (or imply) that Christians "get" their ideas from hick culture. I accused DRISCOLL of being a hick (a hack and a quack) - big difference. Nasty, but there it is.

Heretic blocked.

Hello. Don't you know it is sinful to call people "heretic". It's like calling your brother "raca" or "bastard" - i.e. fatherless, which is the grossest blasphemy known to man (read your Bible more). And then you block the guy - someone who seems to have something extremely interesting to share... someone who is obviously a Christian, no matter how misguided. Shame on you. I agree with nicksum29 about Driscoll - although I am sure Driscoll does not truly mean to be so theologically crude.

I read like 6 chapters a day. How much do you read? Titus 3:10-11 "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself." You may think the Geneva translation is archaic, but the Greek word is "heretic". It is not sinful to call a heretic a heretic. This is what the Bible says, and believers, if we disobey scripture, then we are in sin. Tell me I'm sinning? I'm surprised you even believe in sin.
