almost 8 years since My soul was released, just one month before Dreamworks got sold

I know the album never got the chance it deserved

but I was ok with it, since it was already a success to make music I loved and an album om my terms,

I just can't believe that so many still take the time to write me and comment , that they love the album and want me to make more music

I have learned that although I'm a private person,

I love to revile my soul in songs and can't live with out making music

I have had the album for like 8 years I think.Back then it was near impossible to watch the clip on your web site.Mandler's style was distinctive him and Hype had their own unique vision.video clips costed an arm and a leg in the early 2000s.I couldn't even rent a camera for school work.I have always wondered why you got only enough play for one song then completely disappeared.Any plans to record something new ?

@mariamysoul Yes, Anthony has his old "Shoot the video in a dark room with nothing but a window open" style that is very familiar, LOL!! But he has, nonetheless, made a lot of great videos.

What prompted me to buy your album was the fact it was produced by Soulshock & Karlin. I was a huge fan of a lot of the R&B and hip hop songs they did in the 90's and the stuff they did with Monica, Tracie Spencer and 2Pac. I fell in love with that record and consider it to be criminally slept on.

I did make the video with Anthony Mandler

and I'd like to think I had a little hand in discovering his great talent as a director

( he was already a very successful photographer )

I picked him to do my album cover, fell in love with his talent , and we came up with the video treatment together. Although we had a very small budget compared to what he works with now,

you can already see his own personal style.

but I am glad that everyone who takes the time to find my music, after so many years, clearly only has good intentions

I Finally have something I need to write about and found the need to sing again
