@genxtargetmarket I found his arguments far more convincing than Hitchens arguments. It seems to me that Hitchens arguments are based on "This is not how i would have done it if i was god, therefore there is almost certainly no god" Basically, either the universe was created by an intelligence or it was not. For me personally, i find the intelligence hypothesis much more plausable.

@FinisReflectatOpus I see your point. Intellectual process must not give itself for name calling. It can lead to clarify and shed light on issues. Name calling , hate can only be a result of emotional identification with the issue at hand and it has nothing to do with intellect . Intellectual process if it is used rightly can give clues in the right direction without emotional confusion. Yes intellect can be manipulated.Do we have a choice but keep ontrying to be responsible for our thinking?

Sure. But atheists still prefer to use general reasoning methods and logic to prove their stand point as more superior. And intellectual honesty.

Sure, I have faith that there is no deieties of any kind. Just as much as I have faith that there are no pixies, cherrubims, dragons, wizards, Balrogs, witches, Leprechauns, etc etc.

All these are on basis of faith, but they are on the basis of rational thinking. On reason.

The theists' is not.

Mao, Stalin, Polpot, countless other atheist Marxists, all rounded up and killed priests and church goers right off the bat, because those forces were not going to fall in line with any amoral dictatorship. Again, I'm not a theist or a church-goer. That's why I can stick purely to the facts. The fact is that neither the theists nor atheist have any hope of employing deduction or formal reasoning successfully in pursuit of these "proofs". It's pure faith on both your parts.

@Domzdream The person you describe is an evil idiot, but again you have to go back to fundamentals. Jesus mentions hell zero times and the Jews were entirely indifferent to the notion and still are. You are citing a fringe, manufactured element that warps things to control and divide the masses. I'm not a Theist, and since I have no dog in the race, I can think about it dispassionately. If you get down to empiric arguments, add up the dead and raped. Hundreds of millions by atheists. They win.

I think atheists, being so villified as the bad guys, are simply tired of being segregated. So they come here to vent. I also think it's only temporary.

I have seen atheists throw slurs at theists all the time. But generally, it's the theists who threaten non believers with death threats and violence. Very rarely the other way round. If any at all.

If I didnt get so many threats of burnign in hell, and death threats, and threats to my family. All from christians. So I think atheists naturally respond this way, and in a not so nice way. Including myself. If someone threatened your wife with rape, then say she'll burn in hell after they kill her. Do you shrug it off as a joke, or do you call that person a fucking evil scumbag who doesnt adhere to jesus' teachings at all? I say, the latter.
