  • Ah, simpler times. When Family-oriented programming ruled. I miss this ABC.

  • WOW! ABC had a kickass lineup!!! I bet if ABC had THIS kind of fall lineup now, you be amazed how many people of this generation including the kids would be watching not just ABC but NBC would finally be out of the gutter and CBS would be better than it is now.

  • "Something's Happening WBRC Channel 6" WBRC-TV Birmingham, Alabama (now Fox)

  • Well, there was that other show on NBC we sometimes watched----"Valerie", then changed to "Valerie's Family" after the title character died, and officially changed the name again to "The Hogan Family" in 1987. Prior to that year there were some cool made-for-TV movies on CBS like 1981's "Dark Night Of the Scarecrow" and NBC's 2 kickass sci-fi flicks, 1983's "V" and 1984's "V: The Final Battle".

  • Yep. That was the network my family and I mostly watched, whether it was soap opera shows or Saturday morning cartoons. CBS was only watched for those holiday specials. NBC, once a week. ALF.

  • 1:22 LMAO!

  • I was alive when this aired and indeed lived through all of the 80s (check that: all of the TOTALLY 80s!). When I look back at an ad like this it makes me wonder how our society ever got through that hellacious decade--I'm just glad I was young enough that I didn't really understand what was going on.

  • "Something's Hapening on Channel 7" WXYZ Detroit, WABC New York, KABC Los Angeles

  • i have a max max headroom remix

  • So squeeky clean that you'd never mistake this for a modern commercial for the afterschool teen programming on ABC Family.

  • "Something's Happening on Channel 6" WBRC-TV Birmingham, Alabama (now a Fox affiliate)

  • "Something's Happening on Channel 5" WEWS-TV Cleveland, Ohio

  • Did Rupert Murdoch brainwash ABC or something?

  • "Something's Happening on Channel 2" WSB-TV Atlanta, GA

  • Thirtysomething and Full House were the two most popular ABC shows premiering that year!

  • Max Headroom @1:15!

  • "Something's Happening on Channel 6" Season 1 WBRC-TV Birmingham, AL
